Backcrossing is a method used to reinforce the traits of one outstanding parent. Starting with cannabis seeds for breeding, a breeder crosses a chosen plant with a partner and then pairs the offspring with that same original parent again. Each round increases the share of its genetics in the line, bringing the progeny closer to the original in appearance and effect. The technique works best when the prized plant is kept alive as a clone throughout the project.
